About
ECOtvc (ecological television commercial) was created in 2004 as a competition for young people to create short film messages to raise awareness about the sustainability of our planet… and to inspire action.
It gives young people a chance to work together locally and globally, thinking about the world we live in and inspiring action to help make it a better place, especially through the use of digital media and film.
ECOtvc focuses on environmental themes – water saving, climate change, endangered species, zero waste, energy and innovation.
ECOtvc have been recommended to the United Nations, broadcast on television locally and in 42 countries in SE Asia. Winners have been screened at film festivals including international Adelaide Film Festival. US singer, songwriter and filmmaker, Jack Johnson, screened ECOtvcs at his concert and on his website. ECOtvc’s other connections include New Zealand Environmental Film Festival Real Earth, International Solar Cities Congress, KidsCall, Tropfest, Australia 21 Young People program and Clever Green 2010 Conference in South Australia.

Tropfest 2010 at Glenelg screened all the 2009 finalists in February 2010.
Winners and finalists were celebrated at the Clever Green 2010 Conference primary luncheon at the Convention Centre to a crowd of over 500 guests. The winning entries were screened Plastic Bag Horror and Walk Softly
The Honourable Jay Weatherill Minister for Environment and Conservation presented awads to the students.
Afterwards there was a guided tour of the Convention Centre to view the worm farm and other environmental initiatives.

ECOtvc has run 6 successful competitions.
International filmmakers Scott Hicks and Mario Andreacchio, and singer Jack Johnson have supported ECOtvc.
Along with Asia Pacific Forum for Environmental Development recommendation of ECOtvc to the United Nations, and it has won a Nature Foundation Award.
Television screenings include Australia and SE Asia.
